Opening Research Assessment to Multi-Contexts

Building a more inclusive, participatory and context-sensitive future for research assessment through open research information, diverse perspectives and global collaboration.

Open Science Responsible Assessment Epistemic Equity Global Collaboration

Recognising the Diversity of Global Science

Research assessment shapes how scientific contributions are recognised, valued and rewarded. Yet conventional approaches often overlook diverse research outputs, societal contributions and knowledge produced in underrepresented regions and disciplines.

OPENRAM brings together open research information, context-sensitive methodologies and participatory approaches to advance more inclusive and equitable evaluation practices. Through international and interdisciplinary collaboration, the project develops tools and frameworks that respond to different research missions, communities and contexts.

Five Objectives. One Shared Vision.

01 / OPEN INFORMATION

Open and Federated Infrastructures

Democratise access to research information through open and decentralised data systems, improving the representation of diverse scientific communities.

02 / CONTEXT

Context-Sensitive Indicators

Develop quantitative and qualitative approaches that reflect different disciplinary, institutional and geographical priorities.

03 / PARTICIPATION

Inclusive and Participatory Assessment

Engage researchers, funders, policymakers and communities in co-creating research assessment practices.

04 / DIVERSITY

Epistemic Equity

Address biases in research information and evaluation systems, supporting the visibility of diverse knowledge systems, particularly in the Global South.

05 / COLLABORATION

Equitable Global Collaborations

Develop approaches that recognise and support more balanced and reciprocal research partnerships across regions.
